On Sunday I attended the short remembrance service at the war memorial outside Eye Town Hall and laid a wreath on behalf of the school.

The children coloured-in some poppies to join the rest of the community in remembrance. They bear the names from the 'Heroic Dead' plaque we have in school. We believe these are the names of ex pupils of the school who died in WW1. They were displayed in every window at the front of the school on Armistice Day. Some children did the same writing names of family members who died in the service of our country on their poppy.

We also held a special remembrance collective worship where the children experienced many of the traditional aspects of a remembrance service. The children shared some of the work they have done and prayers were shared by our Prayer Ambassadors.

Along with the wreath laying and today's collective worship I hope we have helped teach the children the importance of remembrance.
